Deep Sky Instruments RC10C

Up for sale is a Deep Sky Instruments RC10C. This is a 10" f7.3 corrected Ritchey-Chretiens Telescope. It is great for high resolution imaging. The scope has an electronic secondary mirror focusser, secondary dew heater, it comes with a controller for both.

- DSI focuser and dew heater control box with cable
- Set of Parallax mounting rings (2)
- Set of Losmandy 17.25" dovetail plates (2; one top and one bottom)


I have used this scope for a couple of years, but a change in the imaging system to a camera with smaller pixels means I have to change the scope. Here are the specs from the manufacturer.

The primary mirror has a little dust on it, not any more than you would expect from a scope that has been used for imaging. It does not affect the performance and so hasn't been cleaned off.

I have the original shipping cartons, this can be shipped via your courier safely. Buyer to pay the shipping fees.

Shop around, this is a good price for a scope of this quality, if you're looking for an RC with quality optics, then this is your scope.

Man I wish I could Stuart, this looks like a beauty but I have just committed to a home item for the Mrs.

Anyone interested this is a good price for this scope and worth snapping up.

Yeah Paul,

Gotta keep SWMBO happy! If the weather ever clears here I want to play with this scope for some planetary stuff, having sold the ST11k.

The only caveat I have for potential buyers is that you have to keep to the 6" back focus, it's an absolute for this type of scope. If you can't fit your imaging train in this distance you will have odd shaped stars at the edge of field (of an ST11k, that is).

There is no damage to the mirror, it's a little dirty, but not too bad.

When I removed the scope from the rings, there are a couple of small paint chips visible, they are on the underside of the tube, not normally visible. I don't know if they were there when I bought it or not. I can't remember hitting the scope with anything, may have happened in transit to Australia?
