Had a good night last night -
I hadn't taken any pics since February due to bad weather.

I set up the telescope & then the clouds rolled in.
I waited for an hour & it cleared.

Other sizes are on my flickr photos - see link at end.

The first photo is M4 globular cluster.

The second photo is NGC 6144 - globular cluster - close to Antares.
It's a very dim glob, mag. 9.1 & 33 kly, & not imaged too often.

The 3rd is a single 10 minute cropped frame of NGC5128 at ISO 1600.
This was an experiment to see if I could get anything with
such a long exposure with light pollution from an outer
suburb of Melbourne.

The 4th is the Moon.

Good photos Allan.

Your guiding and tracking seems very good.

Ross.

Thanks Ross.
The guiding was quite good -
one of the frames here for NGC 6144 was 10 minutes at ISO 800.
A closeup of NGC 6144.

Hello Allan,

Good work on the images! Imaging from the city is very challenging. Next clear new moon come with us to Heathcote, I'll send you an email.

Sure Steve,
can't wait to get some dark site images.
The only problem will be choosing a target. :)

Nice to know what can be managed from outer Melbourne. Well done.
Have looked at going to LMDSS last few dark weekends but weather has put me off. Hopefully soon. Needs some tips and suggestions.

Yes - you wouldn't think that you'd get anything from Noble Park
but I use a CLS-CCD filter so that helps quite a lot.
My best pics are from Mt Baw Baw but wind is usually a problem there.
I am not a member of the ASV but I am a member of the ASM.
I will pay my dues if needed to go to the Leon Mow Dark Sky Site.

cheers
Alpal :)

I ended up re-processing M4.
I think it's better.
