Hi,

I took some images of Saturn with the above camera. The clarity is quite good, but the image is overexposed (completely white). In the absence of much in the way of a manual for this camera, can someone tell me what control I use to back off the exposure so that I get more detail in the image in future?

Thanks.

Neil,
drop the gain right down, then try the gamma at lower settings, then obviously the exposure time.
What exposure and settings were you using?

Thanks for that Ken. Not sure to be honest....I was recording an AVI then stacked some resulting frames in Registax. Each of the frames standalone was washed out though. Cloud here for the next week or more, so I'll have to wait to try again.

If you are using the ic capture program then go to device settings and take it off auto.
Then drag the gain right down and try an exposure of around 30 frames per second and see how that looks on the histogram. Adjust the sliders until you see some detail.

You can practice setting exposure levels on the moon to get a feel for what the sliders do.
