Hello

Heres an image that is a work in progress.

It is also in another thread because of image calibration problems I was having but thought I would throw it up here to get some comment on its weaknesses so I can sort out the problems now and not have to rework heaps of images later on.

It is IC4604 and its 40mins .. 4 x 10 min luminence subs.
It took ages to frame it and Im not certain I have got ot right even now .. THEN after that not one star appeared in the built in guide camera to guide with .. I was pulling hair by this stage.
I ended up fitting the external camera to my TSA102 and using that ... big bonus of not having to guide thru filters and unless I have flex issues or the like will leave it setup like it is.

I have colour to add but the subs I took over 2 nights are not deep enough to provide anything usefull to the image .. so its back to the observatory tonight clouds permitting to capture some colour data.

Over to you for comments .. thanks

My goodness. Jeff, you're as bad as me! I know you've had the STL for a couple of years now, yeah? Glad to see first light. Looking forward to colour. :-)

Its amazingly SO time consuming setting up Mark ... I have been in the obs about ... gotta be 20hrs or more and I have got 40 mins of useable data Bwah ha ha ha ... So many things to sort out at the start .. but just like everything up until now .. its all a small step.

I hope it heralds the start of a good image Marc ... getting out to get the colour is proving difficult .. plus this target is slowly but surely slipping from the radar as each day goes.

Cheers Greg, I was not certain about it .. I mean I liked it but thought I would throw it out there for others in the know to look at .. No negative responses so far .. So Im on the right track ... finally.

Beautifully there I say jjj ... So many things to sort out with an untried system .. scope, mount, camera observ .. all new for me .. all have something to sort out .. am wondering why I go down to the obs to chill out hahahahaha ... Its chilly yes ... but as much a headache if not more than what Im escaping from ... but thats this game and for some reason it appeals to me .. and all of you out there .. hmmmm.

I wouldnt mind being as bad as you H .. that my friend is a real compliment .. yes had all this gear for getting on 3 years some of it .. waiting .. ITs amazing what Ive forgotten in that time .. thought setting this up would be a doddle then ... HEAD LIGHTS ... FREEZE .. And then it is a compulsory chore to get back into the observ every chance possible to get it all sorted while its fresh in your head .. This image has provided its share as well, the last camera I used I didnt have any of the issues with strange lines etc and so the processes to eliminate this sort of stuff is all new and another "headache" .. this images's positive feedback means Im on the right track .. Colour coming I tonight I hope.
