Hi all,

I am still on the Macro bandwagon trying to improve my shots I don't have a macro lens I am using the 1 and 2 extender rings with a 50mm lens and the 1x,2x,3x soligor macro filter's and the standard flash on the DSLR hand held.

Photo 1,2 and 3 is a some bug that was a media tart and gave me lots of practice and posed for ages:rofl:.

Photo 4 and 5 is of ants tending their herd.

Photo 6,7 and 8 are a bit of a mystery not sure what is going on so any help from an entomologist would be greatly appreciated I can see some egg activity going on but I can't identify the insect that is underneath the fly:question: it may be a wasp laying eggs in the fly:question: not sure these insects were tiny smaller than a match head I didn't even know the smaller insect was there until I looked at the pic's on my computer.

Wow the more powerful end of macro has such a fine and narrow DoF, I'm sure you are finding it as frustrating as I would. One of the reasons I have stuck with the 100mm instead of upgrading to the MPE65. I might try an extension tube one day.

Keep at it Warren. Interesting stuff mate.

Baz.

Thanks Baz,

I enjoy trying and these are the best I have come up with to date I would like to learn how to make them all pose like the first one did in the end I had to leave him/her and move on it still was posing for me I am sure I saw a scowl when I moved on:rofl::P

Thanks JJJ I still have a long way to go but given the equipment I am using I am well pleased.
