Saturday is going to be cold, but fine according to AstroPanel. Close to freezing, in fact.
Surely that means that viewing will be lurvely!
Any takers for a cold, clear night under the stars, assuming that the PC is available?
BYO coffee, or warming spirits, as is your wont.

Yes Shane,
As discussed,
I plan to be there around sunset. (with a key)
weather forecast looks very promising (if you have a freezer suit)

Would lover to come, not sure if I can get to all my telescoping gear as we have just moved house.. but as long as I can at least find my freezer suit, I should be there!

I'm looking forward to come!
Last night was clear at my place but by midnight the fog was in.
I'll just bring my binos and hot drinks!
See you all there.

OK.
It will be good to catch up again.
But 7timer says it will be the best night for yonks!
But lack of response indicates it may be a small gathering
see below for latest astro forecast
I will be taking up my dob

Looks like tonight is OFF at the Pony Club.
The Pony People have a big weekend going on and the jumps etc are up and we are not allowed in.
So it is off unless we can think of another spot.

I missed the update till now (on my iPhone). I got here at the pony club at about 7? No one else here except the camPers with their horses and my son. They were only too happy to turn off the club house lights once I set up the cpc11. I had about 6 of them stoked to see a number of views at different objects starting with Saturn. Starting to really cool down now and my sons getting tired. Will start packing up soon and if I can I'll stop off at blood tree rd on the way home to see who's there for a quick hello. Tony

Boy, that was some great viewing last night.
If only we could have shot out the lights from the works depot next to the sports park, then the seeing would have been sensational. Even better, if we could have gotten onto the oval, and around the back of the toilet block/change rooms, then we could have been in some really nice darkness.
As it was, there was no wind, and when I left at 12:30am there was ice on the roof of my car. No scintillation at all - the stars were very sharp (except through my scope).
Geoff #3, it was great to meet you. Thanks for sharing excellent views through the monster light bucket!
Attendees were myself, Greg, Geoff #3, Allan, Jakob and Andrew, with a late appearance by Bones and Paul.
