While waiting for the Tiangong-1 and Shezhou-9 spacecraft to transit Venus this morning (results here (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=92506) :) ), I took some wider shots of the scene. The centreline of the transit ran through Albert Bishop Park in Brisbane and you can see the early morning cyclists doing their circuits of the cycle track.

Venus is opposite Aldebaran in the Hyades while Jupiter stands higher up near the Pleiades.

Very nice Tom! Can I ask what the lens and exposure details were?

Cheers,
Stephen

Thanks for posting that shot Tom. I thought I recognised that location. I used to pack march 14km along the pathway that runs beside the canal in the mornings during the summer months.

The cyclists like to think they own the pathway. ;)

Man it moves quick. Only 3 weeks ago it was in transit and already high in the sky.
