Having built the shed a few months ago we decided to deck the half of the backyard next to the house as we're on a big slope and the concreted area had such a ridiculous slope it was unusable. It is all nearing completion and the scope will finally have a stable, level surface to be set up on and left for nights in a row. And I have a shed (aka mission control) to retreat to. Fridge, TV and heater all installed.

I've taken a few widefields and unguided images of M7 but hope to get the full setup up and running soon.

The deck covers an area about 15m x 10m and is only slightly less visible than the great wall of China when viewed from low orbit!

Nice deck Niko! At those dimensions it would have kept you busy.

May I ask, what type of decking timber did you use? Is it merbau or something like spotted gum?

Gary,

140mm merbau. I shopped around to get the best price I could and occasionally on a Sunday when I needed yet more I went to Bunnings and got them to price match.

I hope I don't see a merbau deck board or a stainless steel screw for sime time to come!

houghy - faces south but then I'm north of the city so I'll just have to take what I can get!

Well it turned out a treat. But I can imagine the reality of the size of the job
of having to countersink and then screw all that decking on would have sunk in
after just the first few boards. Well done!

Nice work Nico,
Just make sure you give the deck a good scrub and oil twice a year and Robert is your dad's brother!
