I sure have had a fun week shooting wide field with my new DSLR. I can't believe how much detail can be picked up with very simple equipment compared to film. Looks like I'm going to have to shoot everything all over again.

Details are... Unmodded Pentax K-x, 135mm f2.5 lens + Lumicon deep sky filter, 15 x 2 minute subs at ISO 800. This combo has been taking some nice shots through my light pollution.

A great wide field photo kevin.

Very nice detail and colour.

You caught a lot of the Ha red there that most DSLRs wouldn't pick up unless modded.

Thanks guys. It seems this filter might be a workaround for an unmodded camera to get those nebula shots.

:) Nice.
It's a shame about the compression artefacts, I'd like to see more of the detail.

The lens was set to full aperture at f2.5, but the clear part of the filter is 42mm making for f3.21.

JJJ let's see if my old imageshack account works... Direct linky to a bit bigger.
