Here's my efforts from last night - 2.5 hrs on NGC6188 with the QHY8/10" Newt. Conditions were not great with a lot of moisture in the air and I should have paid closer attention to the balance as the guiding was a bit jumpy. Just glad to be out there with no camera dewing issues!

Thanks Marc. It was a very ordinary night up here - had lots of computer issues with my goto's looking at the ground for the first hour. Still trying to get used to the G11. I spent time tweaking the polar alignment however I neglected to balance adequately with the scope pointing east so the guiding wasn't as smooth as it should be. Finally the moisture coated the primary to the point the downloaded images were getting soft so had to pack it in. Cloud rolling in here tonight :(

I find these objects that fill the FOV difficult as there is no "black" sky to reference.



Just OSC with the QHY8pro. I sold my Ha filter a week ago.



Yeah - clouded over again last night but looks like it will be good tonight. Too bad it is work tomorrow.

Thanks Mike. I really need to be more patient and get things set up right rather than diving in to imaging. I don't have an obs so have to set up each time.

It is going to be clear here tonight and tomorrow night but having work the next day and my scope not in my own backyard makes deciding to go through the rigmarole of setting up and pulling down (a dewy setup) a rather daunting task ...and thus a likely non event as a result :sadeyes:

I do have the luxury of setting up in my own back garden despite it's extremely poor horizon. I also recently purchased a set of telegizmo covers which are excellent so I can leave everything set up for a few days at a time.

An obs would be nice however we have such limited space that it is off the table at this stage.

Cheers Ross and Rick. Very frustrating when the gear lets you down. Happy that the QHY8 has been working without issues since the new nosepiece arrived.
