First DSLR images with new 350D DSLR. Guided with Guidemaster and modded webcam. Each were 5min shots in presence of full moon ASA400. No flats or darks. I was quite pleased as I was testing out the guiding through a 70x500mm guidescope on 8" SCT. No barlow on guidescope and no reducer on 8". Gamma adjustment and size reduction in Infranview. Can't wait til the moon disappears from sight to have a go at faint fuzzies.

Very nice Allan, two of my favourite objects in my favourite region of our most wonderful Southern skies.

Cheers

Hi Allen

A great start. Looks like you have already sorted your guiding!

When the moon goes back, try ISO800, and stack several shots. You will be amazed at the improvement.

Good luck

Great shots Allan. Tracking is excellent, and star images also across the field.

Look forward to more of your shots.

Nice shots. I too am working with the 350D and loving it. Some info regarding the 350D can be found here- http://www.covingtoninnovations.com/dslr/EOS300Dastro.html

I'm using version 2.05a of the SynScan firmware as it apparently has more Southern Hemisphere stars for alignment. Must admit my gotos are a bit off at the moment and I'm not sure if its the stars I'm currently using to do the alignment.
Have to check this out
