Perth has terrible weather today... I had my gear setup on the back patio waiting in anticpation. After it started raining in earnest I finally gave up. Sitting in the front room I became aware that my wife was shouting at me (not an unusual occourence!) and the sky had parted for a second. As I scambled to get everything going again the cloud started to come back. I set the gear going and the cloud started out thin but at frame 375 of 800 it was thick at 500 the picture was black.

Thinning out the mess I managed to stack only seven frames out of the whole lot :( Its a soft and not perfect pic, It needed photoshop assistance, But it's mine, I took it and I'll never take another one! No medals for this one but I can say that I did take a picture of the transit. A wobbly run is still a run on the board.

All the best

Congratulations, Paul - you have achieved a miracle! I would not have believed that anything at all could be salvaged from today's dismal Perth weather. :cloudy:

Nice shot for a small "window of oppourtunity".

I guess I got really lucky... I am in Adelaide for meetings and took part of the day to view the transit with the PST. Clouds resulted in no-go for 1st & 2nd contact, but I got to observe 3rd and to within a minute or two of 4th (a large cloud came over).

OIC!

Thanks Mike... I nearly missed it completely... The window was very small only 2-3 minutes or so. If i had not had a practice yesterday and had the gear ready to go I would have failed totally.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the thoughts. I was resigned to not getting a pic at all and feel very lucky to have seen this event for myself.

Grahame and a bunch of the guys left Perth for Esperance last night at 2300 to try and avoid the weather. I'm still waiting to hear how they went !!!

All the best

Paul
