A quick image of the Transit this morning from sunny Melbourne.
10" Dob, TV 27mm Panoptic, iPhone 4S.
I have several avi files yet to process. I'm sure we'll see more images in coming hours and days... Clear skies everyone.

Thanks for that Stephen, great shot.
It is looking like I will have to live the transit through the work of others. Full cloud cover with little patches of sucker brightness. I'm still hoping.
:mad2:
Nice!!! Thanks for sharing Stephen.

Fully clouded over here (typical Melbourne :mad2:) Anyway, I'm sure they'll be far more impressive images coming soon from other members.

Excellent Pic Stephen !! Well done and thanks.
Got about 20 minutes of clearish sky about 11.00 am and had the 80mm at work so set it up and got a view. Managed to show about a dozen or so people before clouds moved back over and they haven't cleared since. And look unlikely to .......
But at least i got to see it in real life ( as opposed to Reality Life ) and I was not expecting to. Better than a slap round the head with a wet mullet. :P
Amazing to see, sunspots and all. Now watching on events.slooh.com while I work. And the few who did see at work were so thankful, quite worth while.
Still looking out the window, you never know your luck ...

Got a couple of pics through my homemade refractor using the iPhone handheld up to the EP:eyepop:. The telescope is a 127mm achromat objective from Surplusshed, the focusser a Moonlite single gear, the eyepiece my plain old Meade 20mm 2". I managed about 15 minutes of observing from the carpark at work in the aptly-named town of Sunbury in Victoria. The clouds promptly rolled in after this pic, and work prevented me from hanging around for the chance of another shot. But I did it!!!

Approaching 3rd contact. Clouds were the biggest problem all day.
