I've had the scope out on my balcony while working from home today. Got so engrossed in work I didn't notice it had started to rain... Luckily it was just a sprinkle before I grabbed the scope and brought it back inside.
But on the plus side, I've seen the transit! And the forecast for Sydney suggested I would see nothing. So I'm pretty happy :D

At least you didn't drop your 10mm eyepiece in a puddle:mad2:

update on the mount ... it is working fine. the skyscan hand control led display is fried but the Board and motors inside the mount are in perfect working order (took it apart today expecting to cry). Not sure what caused the smoke but none of the circuity looked damaged and it ran fine via EQmod on the computer for about 10-15mins.
Tough little nut this one

Glad you got off it lightly. A replacement HC is much cheaper, and make sure you glad wrap it next time
