Just a report here. SA forecast changed to partly cloudy clearing to mostly sunny by afternoon. Skippy sky predicts right now at 0630 the sky is clear or only 10% of cloud. Fact is clouded right out. Skippy sky wrong again. I should have known when I saw it saying it was going to be clear. Skippy sky is the reverse always here. Well most of the time.
7-00am here in Carns sun just up..........20degs not a cloud in the sky wooooooooooooo:D:2thumbs: will get up to 26degs later sea is deep blue in colour.
Staying in a resort lady said I can set it up in the garden, just starting to get scope into garden. O thank you sun gods:prey2:

By 12 I reckon the sky will be fairly clear and we will get a good view. Bureau predicted this but I had hoped that the cloud would not thicken which it unfortunately has this morning.

There were gaps in the clouds but they never lined up with the sun. :( And now it's completely overcast. I'm pretty sure we'll get to see something today but I really wanted to see the start of it.
Oh well.... maybe next time????? :screwy:
Trying to watch a significant solar event on a cloudy day is like watching a hollywood starlet in a PG film - you get a lot of tease, possibly a few scant glimpses, but that's it.....
And lining up a solar scope aint easy in these conditions!

Clear as a bell in Melbourne:shrug:
Got out the trusty ETX-125 with full Baader filter this morning
with low clouds in the NE and more hope than sense.
Saw first and second contact in brilliant clear skies,:D
First was in a clear sucker hole but second contact was full clear sky
The weather radar is showing it wont last:sadeyes:

Cloud was forecast for Mudgee, and it did come, but when I woke this morning there was a full moon on one horizon and a full sun on the other.
I got to view the transit with my 3 girls this morning through the breaks in the cloud.
They were very excited and have taken pairs of IIS glasses to school in case the cloud cover breaks at recess or lunch.
I'm stoked to have seen it, it wasn't looking possible at all yesterday.

Still overcast in Adelaide. So much for being one of the best places in the country to observe the event :mad2:

As is typical, and as I predicted months ago, FULL OVERCAST in Failbourne :mad2: :mad2: :mad2:
Not only that, but it's about the 6th or 7th solid overcast day in a row :mad2:
