Hi all

There have been some great shot of Jupiter taken recently so I decided to get into the act as well. My shot was taken on the<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comhttp://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/ /><st1:date Year=12/3/06</st1:date> at about <st1:time Minute="0" Hour="22">10pm</st1:time>. I used a 10” LX200@f28, Lumenera LU075C camera. I collected 3500 frames @ 39fps and did the usual processing.

as ice says, I reckon some sharpness could come out nicely!!. I have been stacking 200 only, ice sometimes 100 with heavier wavelets at create refence stage.

dave Could you please explain what you're talking about when you refer to Mike performing heavier wavelets at "create reference stage"? Is it possible to actually work on the reference frame before you carry out registax processing? How's that done? So far all I've been doing is working my way through individual frames to find a nice sharp frame and using that as a reference to begin the process, but I didn't know you could sharpen that individual frame up before you get cracking. Your help much appreciated.

hey matt,

make sure registax automatic is off.

load bmps (make sure they are bmps not avis)

align using any frame, once finished, using frame list or slider, move to the first image which is now what registax believes is the best quality frame. align again.

limit to where you want (for my image scale 200 frames in god seeing seems to be enough, for ice, 100 seems to be enough)

create reference, slider 3 to 15, slider 4 to 10. this will create quite a sharp image for the rest of the frames to be optimised to. press continue and then optimise.

use stack graph to filter out any that have not optimised well and stack away

Hi all

I was going to start a new tread about my latest image but I thought I would keep this one going.

Here is my second attempted at Jupiter, equipment used; 10" LX200 @ f28, Lumenera LU075C camera. Total number of frames captured = 1763 @ 19.56fps Processed with Registax, Astra Iamge and Photoshop.
