Figured I'd try to get in early... tonight's partial lunar elipse - in progress. This shot was from a couple of mins ago out of my GSO RC8 + Canon 5DmkII with minimal processing.
Now's a good time to go outside and take a peek if you're in a good viewing location for it!

Thanks guys, this is my first light for the RC8. Brilliant price/performance ratio. I think it's a keeper!
I saw over ten planes fly past within a degree of the eclipsed moon (outside the camera's FOV)... but not a single one transited it. Oh well.
Peter - it was 90% cloud all afternoon, completely cleared up literally minutes before the start of the eclipse, and now there's a huge patch of cloud approaching. I'm not too worried though - I managed to capture the first half so all is good :)

Thanks David, Narayan, & jjj!
Here's a quick sequence of the eclipse, and a rough blend showing some of the (very faint) red colour around 9.05 pm.

Nice Job. As you mentioned the red in eclipses I was asked by a reporter why the moon shows red during an eclipse and I have never thought to ask why so I am asking now WHY:P
