Soo uh..... I left this a little late hehe

I was going to wait until a day before so I knew what the weather would be like, before going out and getting a solar filter.

I didn't plan on the solar filters selling out everywhere!

So, I've looked for any shops selling the film. Bintel doesn't have it at all, which is where I got my scope from.

OzScopes has some, but it's 100cm x 50cm!
I have an 8" Dob....

Their smaller size has sold out too.

Anyone got any ideas where I can get some reasonable size film near Melbourne?
Gonna be pretty devastated if I miss this.

Good luck. Given the weather, I think there will be mass devastation amongst us Melbournians :)

Try Matthew Lovell in Adelaide. He may have some which he can cut up to size. Could send express if you're lucky. I picked up some last week but he was low in stock.

Cloud is hard to predict, but I'm gonna be optimistic :D

And swannies, dunno if it would get here in time. Especially not in time to get it all fitting properly etc.

Think I'll have to go with the 1 metre sheet hehe

At least I'll have some extra if I screw it up.

Try Kirks Cameras in Ringwood http://www.kirkscameras.com.au/.
I got mine from there.

Thankyou!
OzScopes just said they have sold out of the huge sheets too!
Looks like I'll have to whip up an off-axis filter by tomorrow!
