First try at the Sun

Hey guys, in preparation for the Venus transit next week I thought I'd build a solar filter. I didn't collimate the scope unfortunately as I was just trying things out, but I snapped this image of the face of the sun. Also attached is a closeup of one of the sunspot regions. All in all, pretty addictive! Looking forward to the transit next week.

Steve are you using the full aperture or off axis

This image was taken off axis (this was the first shot I took).
I did flip the mask up and took a few more at full aperture while I was playing around with the exposure etc.
