Here are vdB109 and vdB111. Neither are exciting and I present them here as reference images.

They are lovely images.
I like the optical quality of your images.
That setup is giving you pin point stars corner to corner on such a wide field.

Beautiful photos even if the subjects aren't exactly spectacular.
Thanks for posting,

Nice dust Tom, with a lovely looking background and heaps of colourful stars.

Well Tommy, I recon they are both pretty cool actually, I am sure my versions with the same data would have looked more like dark frames
Good to see you back in the dustbuster saddle

I am slowly coming to the conclusion that I really need to get a dark site
for my RHA..... as you aptly demonstrate!
A nice pair... of images :)

The two best reference images that anyone has ever taken of these majestic objects. Or, likely ever will.
Love your work, Sir Davis.

Thanks everyone. I am trying to image the entire vdB catalog but at the rate the the skies are clear here in Idaho it will take me a few more years!

"Two unexciting vdB objects"
Well, I tried vdB109 just last month and failed to get good data. I realise now individual sub exposures for this object need to be 1.5x or 2.0x longer than normal.
So, nice job Tom.
