Full braking

In dim overcast conditions, I snapped a yellow-tailed black cockatoo coming in to land in their favourite Banksia tree. I was about 12 metres away and shot at 200 mm fl. Cropped slightly and other minor adjustments made in ViewNX 2.

Nice Chris, they really do that stopping in mid flight very well, the background seems a bit white however, did you alter that at all, well done however.

Hi Leon, yes I did lighten the backround to bring out details on the bird. Because I was shooting against the gray sky, the bird was virtually silhouetted. As it was, I shot with spot metering and EV +1.0
