I was out supervising number 3 son at the lawn mower when we noticed this Sundog flashing through the trees. :)
Immediately I ran in and grabbed the camera (damn it still has the dove tail bar attached, no worries, leave it on , no time, no time) , I run outside to the side of the house, framed and focussed, turned on the camera, damn, no card. I run back inside to grab the card out of the computer. run run run back outside, yelling "Is it still there!!!" I framed and focussed once again and.....
Anyways, here it is.
hmmmm the pics aren't showing, I wonder what happened then, uploaded them again and it's working.
and woo hoo this is my 14,001st post!!

Nice shots, what's a sun dog though?

Very nice, JJJ! We saw sun pillars, sun dogs and a tangent arc when we were in Norway in January. They weren't as colourful as that...

Cheers,
Rick.

Nice shots JJJ  I know exactly the feeling of rushing around grabbing camera equipment left right and center knowing all the while that the "shot of a lifetime" is happening outside and you are not ready. You win some and loose some. Glad you had a win.

Aah, thanks, I've never heard the term before. Very cool indeed. I've seen lots of moon halos but never a sun dog. Need to keep an eye out.
