In the haze of clear nights I've overlooked this shot from last Saturday week ago.

Just over 3 hours worth, Canon 60D @ ISO800, 21x8min. Stacked DSS (darks & flats)and post processing in PSCS3. These are large images and it takes a bit to downsize them and maintain some quality, so I've included a full size crop from around Eta itself.

Hi Paul,

Your images are so clean even in the crop can't see any noise, great image!!

Just shows the importance of lot's of data, and good processing.

Cheers,

Justin.

She's a pretty sweet camera too Justin, and plenty of hours pays off too :)

Live view I love:), flip out screen is to die for:love:. If for no other reason I'd buy this camera again for the flip out screen. You know how good they are from your little canon with the flip out screen, but on a DSLR it takes it to a whole new level. In fact you don't have to get level any more, or crouched, or kneeling or bent over like a pretzel to look at the screen. Its bliss:nerd:

Very nice Paul, Can't wait to use the Da in anger.
What scope are you using?

That was with my Vixen VC200L Simon, but with the .63 FR on it.

In the full image there's a bit of curvature in the left hand side, but the camera may not have been square on. The seeing wasn't good on the night and I was having trouble getting my guiding happening. I haven't used a DSLR attached to a scope on a mount for probably the better part of two years  It was a bit of a comedy of errors for the night. :P

I'm kinda thinking of buying this to get the whole flip screen thing happening with my camera.

Looks good. Cheaper than a 60D too. Pity they don't have one that's integrated into a battery grip ;)

LOL I bought a battery grip for it a few weeks ago.
All I need to do now is get the thing modded and i'll be laughing.

That should work fine JJJ, I used a pocket TV using the AV-out on my 300D a few years back, it really helped. Ofcourse with the 300D I still didn't have the 5x and 10x zoom that Liveview has, tho loving the flip and zoom on the 60Da :D

I tellya Dave she's a sweet little camera. I really like it. And it does a pretty good job, just a bit of strange truncating of the colour channels in the tiffs that come into PS that has me scratching my head a bit.

I must admit though that coming back down to guidescope and imaging scope after using OAG for a while, was a real challenge let me tell you  I kept scratching my head looking at the setup going "What the hell am I supposed to do next?:doh::bashcomp::prey: " It was pretty frustrating. One night last week I spent from 6 pm to 9:30pm and didn't fire a successful shot. You know ....one of those nights :P

Nice one. Every time I'm kneeling in the dirt trying to compose a shot near zenith I dream about having an articulating screen... ;)
