Hi all,

After seeing what I recorded in the individual subs, I was amazed what was revealed in the processed final. The area shows up like velvet in the sky with hints of red amongst the blue. This is 36x3 minute exposures with Takahashi 160mm f3.3 Epsilon Astrograph and Canon Astro 40D at ISO 1600. May reshoot this area at ISO 400 to add to the stack.

As sharp as it gets. You've got lot of structure in the darker wisps of nebulae. Very well done.

Love the striations in this area, with that Tak astrograph a few hours under a dark sky would be a cracker on this

Thanks Trevor and Mike for your replies. Hoping for clear skies tonight so I can shoot some more of this area at ISO 400. All the best.

Lovely dust... can't wait to see your reshoot. Mmm 160 mm f/3.3... I'm drooling ;)

Thanks for your comments Dave. I am still drooling over your image of this region= wonderful.

I have added 14x12 minute exposures at ISO 400, to the original stack, making the total exposure time 4hr 36 min. The lower ISO has really helped to smooth the image. Hope you like it.

The extra data seems to have made a noticeable improvement  Out of curiosity, have you tried just stacking your ISO 400 subs only?
