hello members first go at m20.... a very interesting object, quite bright
through the finder looks a liittle like m42
a bit of trailing in some individual frames and probably not the sharpest of focus

Hi Pat you've got M8 which is the Lagoon in your field. The colors are wrong and it does look like M20 from this perspective. :) You need to focus a little better and your guiding is a little off but it's a good shot considering the FL. Keep at it. :thumbsup:

ah thanks mark i mucked up my pointing model through the night (live and learn) i chose m20 and this looked the closest "thing" in my finder field
i spent so much time on m83, lying on the floor to see the focus and centreing the damn thing, and they ended up terrible ha ha!

M83 is a challenge. You're best training on M8 which is very bright. You should see it in your finder visually but you'll need to align your finder and you scope. Pick a star at the beginning of the night and align your finder with your camera then you're good to go.
