Takahashi service work

I have just received a PM from a fellow member here, he said that apparently there is someone in Melbourne who can work on Takahashi telescopes. Having been caught out on this one, all be it with another company, all I can say is don't take the chance, enthusiastic amateurs can totally stuff up takahashi equipment as I had proved to me. If you have issues with any Tak telescopes, there is NO ONE in Australia that is recognised by Takahashi that can work on their scopes, despite some people claiming that they can. Send your scope back to Japan for Takahashi to work on it, don't let anyone else near your equipment. They require specialist equipment especially on their triplet refractors.

:thumbsup: Good advise , I have spoken to Claud at 'Astronomy and Electronics' Australia and New Zealands sole Takahashi dealer , on this and he say's the same , Send the scope to them and they will forward it to Takahashi in Japan , its the only guarentee of total job satisfaction and not voiding any warrentee's , and :question: as I see it ist a much to expensive gamble on your equipement not to get any issues sorted properly .
I personally would not let any one play with my TAK's optics , its optics are just to GOOD !! :D.
