Was great to meet you at SPSP.. for a non-astronomer who was there under sufferance, you seemed to mix very well and have a great time. :P

Who knows, maybe Petra, John and Anna can convert you, and next year you'll be there with your own baby lightbridge (we know Petra will have to have the biggest scope :))

I must confess I have not read the chronicles however like Thomas I would consider myself a shunned leper propelled into a strange and alien world with which I am unprepared to cope namely Astronomy.

Although I am reluctant to take part in the grand adventure of night sky exploration due to my genuine need for a life and sleep I am happy to support spacezebra in her quest of discovery. And so with toolbelt, gaffer tape and a propensity to eat chocolate and sip port at strange hours of the night I venture forth into a different reality.

;) I saw some amazing stuff and as the night wore on it appeared that I was seeing twice as much as possible. My ability to navigate in the dark avoiding collision, potholes, cables and the like was enhanced by the warming properties of Brandy.

Sharing an intimate moment with an avid astrophotographer was the highlight.

I actually went for the fishing but found a great mix of personalities, interests and humour. I enjoyed a relaxing and eventful weekend and look forward to catching up again.
