I'd captured an hour and ten minutes of M83 last night, x5min @ iso800, it didn't come up too good. But then I remembered I'd nabbed nearly 2 hours worth this time last year using the same camera (modded 20d). Sooooo, I stacked the 2 Autosave files together and got this. :)
Not too shabby at all.
It's making me keen to get out there again tonight and get some more subs to add into the mix.
Though last time I looked outside there was a pall of smoke from a burn off and clouds moving in. :( I suppose I could do with a rest.

You're doing great work with that DSLR, JJJ! What scope did you use?

Cheers,
Rick.

what a great front on view this galaxy provides and you have done a great job in capturing it. Love the blues and pinks in the synchronized spiral arms. Can't wait to give these types of images a real crack.

You've got a production line going there at the moment! I'm surprised with the result, you have a well defined M83. Very good.

JJJ - what are you doing? So many great images - you certainly have got all your gear working flat out and you must be exhausted.
Well done and you'll be like the Flash at Astrofest !!!!!!

I've been making up for lost time Allan. And yes, I'm exhausted. The clouds moved in last night and I whooped it up. But it looks like another clear night tonight. :(

I remember a run of several clear nights in Canberra back in 05, by the fourth night I was praying it would cloud over, it didn't and on the fifth night I gave up and went to bed exhausted...can't imagine what it would be like living in some places in Chile :eyepop:

Very nice M83 too

Nice shooting Nettie. :) Surely the lens on the ED80 must be worn out of shape by now by the number of photons that have pasted through it??? Its certainly done some mileage.
