Hi all,

I've spent the last couple of nights camping with my family at Lake Wivenhoe, west of Brisbane. On Friday evening there was a nice Space Staion pass near Venus and Orion, which I was able to capture over the mirror-calm water of the lake. Here's the result.

There's also a quick shot of Venus in a beautiful twilight sky last night, with a couple of pelicans in the foreground. (I also have a star trail image taken later in the evening last night, which I'll post in the Deep Sky section.)

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Stephen

How funny is that, I was out imaging venus when the ISS caught my eye, my god was it bright, one of the best fly overs I have seen in a long time, glad you imaged it

Nice capture Stephen - you always seem to know where to be to capture these amazing shots!!!

Out of curiosity, where did you camp at Moogerah?

Beautiful, great composition as always Stephen. Particularly like the early morning shot, so peaceful.

Thanks for the comments Steve, David and Trevor!

David, this was at Wivenhoe, not Moogerah. We were at the Lumley Hill camping ground.

Cheers,
Stephen

Dooh - maybe I should read things a little more carefully! Looks like a nice spot nonetheless.

Is that a new camping area Stephen? Bit further out to east of Capt Logan's camping ground I gather? Better?

Two excellent captures Steven, Top show !

Yes Rob, it's the next little point to the east of Captain Logan, only about 200m across the water. I think it might have been developed as an overflow for the Captain Logan area, so it's a bit quieter.

Thanks very much Bob!

Stephen
