Gave the new Philips 900NC web cam a quick go on Friday Night just to get a feel of it's operation.
Very similar to the Toucam but with some extra controls in the software.

These three were taken at 10 fps for 30 sec total of 300 frames each.
Stacked in Registax 3 and adjusted in PS CS2.

I used the TOA 130 with a Baader UV/IR filter.

Like I said it was only a quick session as I wasn't feeling to crash hot. :(

Also the seeing that night was terrible, looked like you were looking through jelly.

Comments and suggestions welcome guys.

:)

When did you get that camera? Nice start, will be very impressive with good seeing and not soup. Must have made focusing a real nightmare?

They look great Andrew....just a little overexposed in some area's..but otherwise...what a great start.

they look fine, have you trialled the sharpness slider. I did not like it on jupiter, but it may prove useful to give it it more tests

Yeah you're right guys they are oversharpended and overexposed.

Houghy I got the camera a couple of weeks before SPSP, and yes focusing was horrendous that night.

David_P - I was using the Sharpness slider and I wasn't too happy with the results either.

Like I said I wasn't feeling too well that night and with the new camera settings and seeing, it wasn't the ideal session to say the least.

Even though the 900NC is very similar to the Toucam, it does have some differences in software that need a bit of trial and error before you get things working properly.

Thanks for your comments guys.

Hi ANdrew, great to see you chugging out some pics with the 900nc. I'm pretty happy with mine, but mostly because it's free of dust bunnies compared with my neximage!:P

I like these moon shots, they look very sharp, amazingly so for poor seeing. Well done:thumbsup:
