Hi,

Here's an image had a lot fun processing.

I managed one hour thirty five minutes of data before the clouds rolled in. The colours in this image are pretty well what came out of the camera, with some saturation applied in some areas. In others especially the bright inner regions I had to back off a little.
Hope you enjoy this image?

Telescope 8” f/4 astrograph on a HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
Unmodded Canon 1100D at ISO 800.
19 x 300 sec subs ISO 800.
24 dark frames, 16 flat frames and 11 bias.
Stacked in DSS and post process in Phototshop.
Cheers,

Justin.

That's a very nice Lagoon Jason. Your tracking looks spot on.

Thanks Marc and Steve.

I think I'm finally getting a handle on the basics of processing, need to work on my stars a bit more though.

Cheers,

Justin.

Your stars are fine. If you wish to tighten them a little you can use Carboni's actions in PS. Google it. Troy did a couple of actions as well for starmasks and others that work well. Or if you use CCD Stack, Maxim/Pixinsight you can apply a slight deconvolution. Many ways to do it.

Hi,

Done a tweak, and add 30% more red to the outer regions of the nebula.
It's seems to provide a little more depth to the image.

Cheers,

Justin.

Think I prefer the first version, looks a bit more natural. But anyway a fine image.
