These are from this morning. Capture time was a bit later than usual to trade off altitude with thermals. Cooler weather today helped with the thermals I think but still wasn't ideal due to wind.

More to follow as I process them.

Great shots Al, looks pretty active at the moment.
Got some solar film the other day, better get off my bum and make up the filters so Carol and I can have a good look as well and get setup for next month.

Hi Al

Nice work, your posts are always interesting and educational with their diverse views through various telescopes at different wavelengths. For this mega-set, the full solar disc is my favourite.

Cheers

I was watching today as well, looks exactly like what I was seeing in the PST.
I had a haze of cloud annoyingly sitting over the sun, in an otherwise clear sky, but still got some reasonable views. The PST hot-spot is starting to bug me though, I have to move the image around as the flares disappear and re-appear depending on their position in the field of view.

Thanks guys.

I know what you mean about the PST hotspot, Peter. When I made the adapter for my SM40 and bought the B1200 I didn't expect to escape the hot spot so much as not have to change scopes on the mount in the obs. But the results with the SM40 through the ED80 are just so wonderfully flat and uniform I didn't keep my PST much longer... but I do miss its portability:sadeyes:.

The full disc is always a favourite Dennis. You'd almost think it deliberate wouldn't you? I think my setup is well suited to it.;)
