Dear all, after having two nights of woeful alignment, last night when it was 6'c and intermittently rainy and blowing 50Kmph gusts (I kid you not) I got nice round stars!! I had a go at NGC 4038, then added some more to my M83 (now over four hours) then I got the dreaded white screen on the QHY 8. Dunno why.
So changed back to my 1000D with a CLS filter for a quick Trifid before the rain and the moon stopped play.
My feet were nice and warm though in my genuine 1980's moon boots!
Cheers

Gday Graham,
Enjoyed your pics, particularly the 3rd one, nice whispy dust swirl lit up from behind!
You know Im new to the world of astronomy and I never really thought I'd be keen on photography but I can feel it inside me...growing ever more...especially after looking at piccies like yours on ISS.
So much to learn so much see -where can i possibly find the time...
Can you post a pic of your moon boots? im intrigued..
Cheers
Ben

I was going to get some uggies when we move down, maybe I should re-think that?
Are they really that warm? Where did you get them?

Very nice images, love the first two.
That night was indeed windy not to mention freezing though with those moon boots nothing im sure make your feet cold.

Always nice to know that there are other crazies out there, in the wind and cold, paying homage to the universe while I'm tucked up warm and cozy in bed, and able to look at their excellent images later in the day.
Thanks Graham, much appreciated.
Cheers,
Brian.
