Petra,

did Dave pose for the goose shot?:P :D

I think the pelicans have it:D , I mean whats a duck but a misformed Pelican!;)

Some great "personal" shots there, seems to have brought the field back to the rest of the flock so to speak!

Pelicans are easier cause they're slower and stay still more than other birds :)

i'd have thought a turtledove would be slower!

Thanks Mike, that's the beauty of the DSLR, so many frames to choose from. :)

This was the 1 perfect one from 150. You didn't get to see the other 149 shots where the Lorikeets had flown away, had their backs turned, were out of focus, etc.

Cheers

Dennis

G'day Phil,

That's a nice shot of the kooka sitting on the railing.

Can I ask what camera/lens and camera settings you used? Also, how far away was the bird? I ask because I noticed that virtually everything in the image is in focus..almost to the trees in the far distance.

Peter.

Peter, nothing fancy, it's a photo I took with my old Kodak before I got the 20D; Unfortunately I didn't have the time to get out and image something this month. I would love the opportunity to take it again. Distance is only 1 metre away, as for the F/L and other detail I can't access that info from the humble Kodak. The Kooka was rather friendly, I actually managed to give him some lunch.
