"Connie & Warhawk"
Albion Park Airshow today - Leica M8 & Summicron-C 40mm f/2 at ISO160 & 1/2000th second.
It's truly amazing that we can still see these aircraft fly. A great airshow today.
Tip - NEVER stand behind a Constellation when it starts engines. You, your camera and everything for 300 metres is completely covered in oil. The second image is not presented as a photograph, as such, but as a record of the oil spray event.
That first one is a beauty Chris.
Tip noted as well. :D
Hope the lens is ok.

What a fantastic image. As mentioned, it's so bizarre seeing those objects in the same frame. Makes it an interesting capture. :)

Thank you Ric :) Yes - beware of old aircraft, white t-shirts and new cameras.
Thanks Humayun. I've sent a copy off to the Historic Aircraft Restoration Society (which I'm thinking of becoming a non-active member of) and will hear what they say. I suspect that the P40 is also one of theirs, but I'm yet to find out.
Thanks Mike :) Something different eh?
Thanks Jay :) Thanks for your comment. I'll have to look up what you mean by the B.oB. reference! Interesting period comparo.
Thanks too Dean! Yep, it ached to be vignetted and treated to a slight sepia tone.

Cool! Used to go to heaps of airshows when I was a kid. My father flew light aircraft and was a member of the Coolangatta Aero Club. I miss those times.

Thanks Troy  Yep, I was also with an air club decades ago. I learned to fly at Schofields Flying Club back in around 1980/81 in a Piper Warrior. Great fun.

Dad had a Piper Cherokee. I still recall the plane was VH-PDO "papa delta oscar". I was about 8-10 years old and still recall the blue and gold stripes.

Yeah, wow! Basically the same aircraft but with the Hershey bar wing versus the tapered wing of the Warrior and Warrior II. Very cool
