Shame about the seeing tonight.
Stars twinkling like mad.
Jetstream map confirms there'll be no viewing/imaging for me again tonight:(

Same down here, tried some photo's and even with the ST-4's agressivness set to 8, it kept losing the star, getting errors of + and - 9, they were jumping around that much, at least the football was on.

Shame about those Tiges, though.
But the seeing's been poor for weeks. Ever since I took delivery of a new Vixen LVW 3.5mm.
I'm waiting for a great night to use it in my 8" f5 newt (fl 1000mm) on Jupiter. It's really all I bought this ep for, although I'm sure it'll serve me well as a high power (285x) planetary ep for saturn etc on those good nights, if they ever arrive:lol:

A bit of a flogging, know what you mean, used to live in Cooma, usually this time of year the skies are steady, anyway, you know the rules, after the 25th it will cool down and the skies will be steady. I have a 3mm Radian that I am yet to use, bought especially for the Tak, ah well, one day.

I havent seen stars here for a week now. I bought a 20mm superview last sat and as i walked out of bintel and of course it started raining and hasn't cleared up since!!! Barely even a sucker hole !!!

Know what you mean m8, same thing happened to me, my scope arrived fron the US and it rained for a week as well
anyone game to offer a prediction for 2nite? Might be a hole in the jetstream opening over the SE. Still a bit windy here though

Clouds here, but I reckon there might be sucker holes here & there tonight. The scopes cooling just in case.
Clear as, here Asi. Just hoping the wind dies down and I can get the 9.25 crackin'

It is beautiful and clear here but shame about the moon. For the last 2 months it has been cloudy almost every night with no moon and clear whenever there is lots of moon, Grrrr

Same here. First couple of clear nights in a long time and the moon is up. Oh well, at least I got a chance to try out my new moon filter.

The lightning you can probably see to your east is just offshore from here, except for the storm out to sea, it is clear and windy, stars are going mad again, indoors tonight.

I've had a bit of luck for a change. Just after sundown the clouds disappeared. Seeing conditions are 6/10 & rising. :)

That's a pity Davo....better luck tomorrow night.
yeah JohnG. I was hoping the seeing might match the transparency here but it hasn't happened. Stars here look very ordinary. Twinkling as hard as last night. Just had a quick peek at Jupiter. Looked like i was looking through a vaseline-smeared lens on a camera. Am sad to report the 9.25 and NexImage has been packed away... again
