Dear all, I have been away for last few weeks without the possibility to access this forum but I see that it is very lively and as usual with lots of world class images! :2thumbs: I eventually have found some time to contribute with a couple of new images.

The first target is a large planetary nebula that was discovered in 2004 by Quentin Parker, David Frew and Mark Pierce during the SuperCOSMOS H-alpha Survey. It is characterised by a thin faint almost perfectly annular ring with a brighter limb to the north, a structure that is the result of the planetary nebula starting to interact with the ISM. This target located in Monoceros has a very low surface brightness and more than 10 hours on the only Ha was barely enough to show something. Larger apertures would produce much better results

The second target is a more known object even if not so often imaged, the area around Stock 16 and RCW 75 in Centaurus. Here there was much more signal to deal with so the image is less noisy than the former one :)

Both are HaRGB images from Coona, details are on the page.

Hope you will like them, best is to see them at full resolution (option "O" in the website)

Marco,

Two beautiful images!

I especially like the second image - the colours visible are wonderful. "Grazie mille" for sharing these images.

Excellent work Marco. I don't think you should apologize for the planetary image. It looks great to me.

Cheers

Two lovely captures there Marco, grabbing low surface brightness objects is a refreshing break from compiling mastrpieces of the good'ol favourites .

Thanks for sharing

2 superb images Marco.

Do you have your own observatory there or do you rent the scope there?

Greg.

Really like the planetary there Marco.

I imaged RCW 75 recently with the FSQ106, so much wider field, and Ha only. I pondered whether I should add colour, and looking at your very fine image, I might go back and do just that.

cheers

"Grazie a te" (thank you) Mario!

Thanks Steve

Hi Paul, thanks. I too prefer the planetary image, despite being more stretched, its shape and the colorful background make the image more appealing than the other..

Thanks Mike ;)

Hi Greg, thanks. Yes, I have my own observatory down there, Peter at Warrumbungle observatory is hosting it in his property and provides on-site support. Look <a href:"http://www.tenbyobservatory.com/">here</a> or contact me in PM if you want more details..

Thanks Graham

Hi Martin, yes, you should, that area is quite inetresting.. well you should add colors to all your last Ha images IMO, they all worth it ;)

Thanks Rolf!

Thanks Werner

Thanks Marc!

Hi Marco,

Do you have the RA and Dec of that ring nebula? I'd love to have a go at it with the CDK17?

Greg.

Thanks Trevor ;)

Sure, here you go: PFP1 RA=07h 22' 17.7" Dec -06d 21' 46.0"

With your large aperture you will have no big issues to get a good s/n
