Hi guys, I have not been out to take more images for about 3 weeks now. Last new moon I tryed to get some imaging done from a dark site and with no dew protection it was not a productive night. Since then I have had my secondary out of the scope waiting on a dew heater in the post that I will attach to the back.

I decided I would play with some data I took a while ago, This is 5 x 15 minute shots with my 7nm H-alpha filter of the horse head. I dont have any 15 minute dark frames yet, and I think this one would benifit from some as well as more subs. Still gives me something to do!

Lovely sharp stars, Peter, and good detail in the curtain behind the HH. This has great potential. Go ahead and do those darks and add a few more subs if you can.

Hi Peter,

Great detail, those delicate features really leap out!

Cheers,

Justin.

Good job on that one Peter. Makes a difference when you get everything sorted out for a start. Astrophotography becomes easy! Its interesting what the difference in FOV is. :) I can barely get the whole horse head in with the 254 F4.7 :D

Just a point with your collimation, i can see in altinak that your diffraction spikes, the rainbow graduations are slightly skew Concentric but skew. This is the effect of your secondary not being the right height in your tube aka its either too far up or too far down. If you have the Sight tube for the cats eye gear look closely :) its not far out!

I can say for sure that this shot didnt have the secondary centered under the focuser, that is something I have only sorted out recently. and at the moment I dont even have a secondary in the tube because im still waiting on my shiny new dew heater.

Thanks for the comments everyone, I thought it came out ok myself
