Hi guys.
We've almost reached 900 members, which in itself is a fantastic achievement. However we all know that 1000 members is the real milestone :jump:
I'll be organising another IIS competition to celebrate the thousand member milestone, called IIS1K.
There won't be a prize for the 1000th member or anything like that, as it will just be too tempting to get your mum, brother, sister and dog to sign up :)
However to simply celebrate the event, to celebrate the milestone of reaching 1000 members, i'll run another competition, supported with prizes by generous sponsors from around Australia (they don't know this yet  ;) ).
We've had some busy and not-so-busy months with new member registrations.. the busiest was December 2005 where we got 100 new members in that month alone! That peak was thanks to the IIS Xmas 2005 competition, as well as a nice article in AS&T. It's been less than that since then, so I'm guessing it could be approximately 2 months before we hit the IIS1k milestone.. but with your help, it could be less!
So, get recruiting! Tell your friends that are into astronomy, tell members at your astro-society and get them to register. I appreciate your help in getting us to that amazing milestone. Remember, that people you get to sign up can enter your forum username in the "referrer" field, so you can get credit for recruiting them! :)
As for the competition, I'm guessing the best bet is another multiple choice quiz, like the xmas 2005 competition. Unless you have any other suggestions?
Let me know if you've got any suggestions or ideas for the IIS1k competition, or any comments!
Thanks!
