found a hole in the clouds and got just enough time on star alignment to realise that the scope had developed a bit of astigmatism. By the time that was sorted out, the sky was clearing. Eventually had about an hour of clear sky with thin clouds drifting through. The seeing was very variable, but not too bad in places (stacked about 15%). It was great to get another opportunity to image the planet after weeks of useless conditions, even though the result is just a tad too noisy and soft to see fine detail.
thanks for looking. Regards ray

Still a most creditable effort Ray, it can certainly be frustrating in such variable conditions when there is never quite a long enough window to get all 3 channels in similar seeing. It often seems that the R channel ends up so much better than the G & B but I reckon persistence has its own rewards.

Well done.

thanks JJJ

thanks Trevor. yeah, got one fairly good red channel image and one broadband one from 20 minutes later - everything else was a bit ordinary. But it was still good to end up with an image.

Lookls Great to me Ray.

Nice detail in the rings. I hope you get more breaks in the clouds over there to do more imaging.
