Crevices and capillaries in golden sand caused by outgoing tides. Taken shortly after the sun had risen.

This was from the Easter long weekend when Chris and I headed out to the coast.

My 120 back with Velvia 50 in it failed; it wouldn't advance past the first frame. So, I shot with a back that had Astia 100F, instead. Not the best landscape film available; it's a low contrast film designed for nailing skin tones, but, can be used for landscapes.

Larger version available here (http://scratch.hqphotography.com.au/images/astia100005.jpg).

Note: processing involved slight contrast enhancement. Otherwise, it's how it came out of my scanner. Downsampled for web consumption from about 66 megapixels.

Mamiya RZ67 Professional II, Mamiya-Sekor Z 127mm f/3.5 W, Fujifilm Fujichrome Astia 100F 120
127.0mm f/16 iso100

Haha, I have often thought that about the colour of the sand at that beach.

I hope you're well. :)

Very nice Humayun. Glad to see that you caught a lens flare also. Yep, the sand is a wonderful colour on this beach.

My flare...

Thanks Chris and Barry!

Glad to see you were also affected by the flare, Chris! :P

I think my gift to myself in the next two weeks will be the 50mm floating element lens. Then, the week after that, the 180mm portrait lens. :D

Very nice H. Incredible resolution.

What's a floating lens?

Greg.

One of these puppies: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/154472-REG/Mamiya_212_314_Super_Wide_Angle_50m m.html

Although, they can be had for about a third to half of the price.

The floating element lets you obtain critical focus when focusing very closely. This lens focuses as close as 4.06 cm. :)

Love the resolution in the sand H.

That new lens sounds like the bee knee's.

Cheers
