Here are the planets as captured yesterday morning and afternoon, at their relative apparent sizes. Cloud (again) came over to cover Saturn!

Here's a couple of pics of the capture process - Canon EOS 600D and 12" SkyWatcher Dobsonian.

Nice work Tom! Wish I could get Venus & Mercury but trees & houses forbid it.

A fantastic montage - I especially like seeing Mercury.
Cheers,

PS Saturn was my main target last night, damn clouds! :mad2:

Better come to Bundy Mario! Clear again now & hopefully it stays that way for Saturn..Going by the satellite, you might be lucky tonight in Brissie; Might have to do a bit of 'sucker holeing' though.

A nice compilation Tom. Shame the clouds prevented you from capturing Saturn as well!

Nice grab, Tom. Shame you missed the full set. You haven't got much time if you do aim to get all 5 planets on the same night!
Not to hi-jack the thread, but in a previous life I used to do computer chip design. When I started, CMOS was an emerging technology. Soon, it was all there was. Seeing your results, and the shot showing the preview screen on the Canon 600D (which uses a CMOS sensor), it strikes me that the age of CMOS planetary cams is surely soon to be upon us.
