Nebulosity around Antares, what colour?

Hi,

Another image from last night, nebulosity around Antares.

Another difficult one to process, forr me anyway, what colour should the nebulosity/dust be??

I chose this yellow/green from other images, but there are are others of different colours.

Telescope 8” f/4 astrograph on a HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
Unmodded Canon 1100D at ISO 800.
10 x 300 sec subs ISO 800.
9 dark frames, 9 flat frames and 9 bias.
Stacked in DSS and post process in Phototshop.

Hi Justin,
Looks pretty much the same as my picture of this same area http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=112756&d=1333758047 but a bit more green. I tried to get mine as yellow as possible as that is how I always see this area captured. I would go for as yellow as possible and loose the green. I know it is a very difficult area to process. You have done well to not blow out Antares too much :thumbsup:

I am amazed at all the stars so close to Antares, plus a few galaxies that you have captured Justin. The colour looks okay to me, each has there own taste. All the best.

It's certainly a learning curve in processing, with some ojects that require a different approach.

I find it a difficult region to get right. The greens and purples that show up after posting are quite different to what I see on my laptop.

I interpret Antares as bright yellow massive presence it's glow dominating the region. But the equally bright blue stars light up the dust and reflection nebula.
The reds always seem subdued and difficult to bring to life. There is so much there that hours is needed to bring it adequately to life.

I imagine it to be a bright vibrant piece sky. But that's just the way I perceive it.

I'm right in the middle of imaging IC 4604 around Rho oph, this looks like a more promising prospect to process. The initial iamges show it coming through as a strong blue.
