Nice and sharp Peter.

My general comment about straight Ha shots is they always seem to lack contrast.

I guess that reflects the diffuse nature of the gas clouds they are recording. When I've processed mine, I have difficulty finding the balance between achieving dark background sky and not loosing the faint edges of the nebulosity (which is always larger than you think).

I agree with David from an aesthetic point of view but you've respected the light. Deep monochrome Ha shot of the rosette will always white out. It's even more obvious in wider fields. Plenty of details though.

An excellent photo Peter.

Sharp, detailed and a nice tonal range.

I love monochrome shots.

Thanks.

Ross.
