Hi,
Thought I'd test out the limitations of my setup on Lynd's bright nebula, or not so bright in some cases!
Last night I imaged LBN 972, this was right at the limit and I had to stretch like crazy when processing to get anything.
Tonight I tried LBN 1066 in Puppis, a much better prospect and quite pretty. I trawled the net to find other images of these nebula and for info, couldn't seem to find any.
Have any of you imaged these before?
The most information came from Guide 8, which is not very much, see below.
Lynd's Bright Nebulae (LBN) catalog contains most of
the known emission nebulae.
LBN1066 in Sh2-311
Maximum diameter: 600 arcseconds
Emission nebula
Brightness level: 2 (1=brightest, ... 6=faintest)

LBN 972 = 1hr 48 minutes of data. at ISO 1600 and 800
LBN 1066 = 1 hr of data. at ISO 800.
Telescope 8' f/4 astrograph, on HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
Canon 1100D with baader coma corrector.
Median stack inDSS, post processed in photoshop.
Cheers,
Justin.
