I attached my Pentax K100d with 300mm zoom lens to the mount last night and did some 2 minute and 4 minute exposures (f8) as a experiment and managed a measly 30 minutes all up (excluding dumped frames). Version 1 attached no doubt some Sids to come.
Not doing wide field that often I did notice some difficulties as followed
a) trying to get focus without live view or the like is a PITA and took me some time before I was reasonably happy. Unlike the Canon I have been unable to source any program to remotely operate this camera from a PC.
b) pointing was also an issue as trying to line the camera up so it's roughly pointing at the target you want on a side by side setup with the guide scope can be troublesome so is trying to get the balance right, I had to dump a number of subs due to tracking issues
c) the blue channel seems dominant out of an unmodified camera
Subsequent processing was also difficult trying to get the colour balance reasonable.
So any guidance on this would be helpful :help::thanx:
