Hi all - I have no scope and little chance of acquiring one in the near future, but I do own a nice late model Canon DSLR. I know there is at least one e.book on the subject but any advise on a good real book to get the basics?

e.books and I just don't get on. Books need to be on the desk, get flicked through and dog eared, get notes scribbled in the margins and need to smell of old paper. It's gotta be a book book. I was in Bintel in Melb a while back looking at their stock, but the 'recommended' book sort of lost me when the back cover blurb celebrated the arrival of the 1 hour processing lab so we no longer have to wait weeks for our pickies. I'm guessing things have moved on...

TRy this http://www.bintel.com.au/Accessories/Books--Charts-and-Software/Digital-SLR-Astrophotography/480/productview.aspx
Most of it is about using a DSLR with a scope but is certainly covers other aspects pretty well.

Dummies books are great if you want something to your model, also I have david busch's books, they are the shizzel when it comes down to model. Lynda.com if you ever want video books, derrick story as the host/writter. You can always print to paper, lol i know what you mean by ebooks arn't the same and have being looking at getting a ebook reader to see if it helps change that feeling.
