Finally got a few hours to myself to head out bush and be one with the great outdoors. Man I've missed it!

1. Bull ant. Just over an inch long.

2. Wren. About 4 inches high.

3. White-browed Scrubwren

4. Pelican

5. Brush-tailed Rock Wallaby. Endangered.

Hi,

I'm impressed by that ant, what a look! Jack Vance wrote "the thoughts of insects would terrify you". Can't you imagine this well with that visage?

Cheers

Thanks guys! I found out the ant is no normal Bull Ant - it's a Jumper Jack ant. I've pasted some WIKI reference material under the image on my website (http://www.barryarmsteadphotography.com/apps/photos/photo?photoid=153513259) if you want a read. Scary sounding critter!

Fantastic images Baz as always. The rock wallaby though focus is a little soft. It looks like the camera focused on the rock to the left.

Thanks Greg! Yeah, the rock wallaby was a long way off and a HUGE crop! Lost a lot of resolution thus.

Wonderful shots Baz.

Love those Wallabys, they always look like they are up to mischief.

Those "Inchman" ants are a real nasty affair. The best way to describe their bite is heat up a 3" nail to red hot and then stick it in your arm.:scared:

They bloody hurt.
