ahem... hello members have been struggling for weeks trying to compress photos hope this is going to work

Well you compressed it but you didn't have too go that far you can stop at 200kb. I use GIMP(its FREE) to compress my images it is easy to do when saving you have a quality bar after hitting save. And I would resize to 1024 if you leave the chain link attached it will take care of the other dimension. By the way the image looks great it is a little hard to get much detail because of the small size would love to see a larger resolution one:thumbsup:

As Warren alluded, resize and compress aren't the same thing. You will find the best compromise is to resize the image and then compress it.

There are a couple of plugins for GIMP to make this easier - "Save for Web" and "RIOT".
