My Mars April 02, 2012 set, Variable conditions again.
Olympus Mons on CM, Calendra of the Olympus mons is visible.

Good detail in those images Freddy, both of the clouds and the surface.

Definitely a superb view of Olympus Mons. Orbiter photos show the caldera is slightly left of the centre of the shield, and there is a notch in the RHS of the shield (north pole down), both details which your image shows!

Fantastic stuff for a ground based image.

I have been looking at some pic's of Olympus Mons, and wonder if it is the caldera or the dark colouring surrounding the calderawe are seeing:question::shrug:

The dark surround doesn't seem to appear in all hi res images :question:
